Raflatac’s New Label Slitting and Distribution Operation

Giant Label stock  manufacturer  UPM Raflatac is to open a new self-adhesive slitting and distribution operation in Mexico city to service Mexican and Central American markets.  The move will help improve lead-times to self-adhesive label manufacturers, which is viewed as being a strategically important region to the UPM subsidiary.  Raflatac are a major supplier of self-adhesive labels materials, providing a wide range of paper and filmic-based laminates to labels manufacturers.

UPM said the new facility, which is strategically located to strengthen the company’s service to customers in Mexico and Central America, is set to begin operations in the second quarter of 2012 and will stock a wide range of paper and film labelstocks including trimless offerings.

Enhancing Label stock access

The terminal will also allow UPM Raflatac to expand its service network further and offer enhanced delivery times to customers in Guadalajara and Mexico City.

UPM Raflatac Mexico general manager Jose Garcia said the company recognizes that its customers require rapid access to a diverse range of labelstock products to conduct their businesses.

Tanto Labels is a Raflatac customer and has access to the entire Raflatac range. We use Raflatac products in many of our self-adhesive labels including thermal transfer and direct thermal labels for barcode printing applications. Printed Labels can be specified with permanent or peelable adhesive, and many specialty adhesives including hot-melt, rubber-based and water soluble, and can be supplied on rolls of all popular core sizes, on  sheets and fanfold packs.
